My 2022 Vision: 5 S.M.A.R.T. Goals for the Year!

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22! 🍾

2022 is here, and it’s time to set some resolutions. A slight disclaimer, though: You do not need to wait for the first day of the year in order to start something. But, I get it. A blank canvas is always enticing. And, I am not an exception.

So, I sat down and wrote down five goals that I want to achieve this year. They are actually S.M.A.R.T. goals, which means that they have specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time components!

✍🏽 No Missed Postings

My consistency here suffered a lot, last year. In fact, it was more occasional than 2020. And I am not exactly proud of it. 2021 was a busy year for me and that contributed a lot to my inconsistency. And, if everything goes according to plan, 2022 will be even busier. However, I do not want to overlook my blog. So, I plan to find the sweet spot of balancing everything and being better at time management. I know it will be a bit hard to post twice a week, at certain times, but I really love blogging and there is no way I want to slack behind just because life is going to be crazy busy! If anything, blogging is my recluse!

📚 Read 48 Books

2021 has been quite a bookish year for me. And I am very proud of that. My goal was to read 25 books in 2021, and I managed to get through 45 of them. My ideal goal is to read 50 books per year, and I am so happy to be reaching that point. So, this year, I wanted to increase the limit slightly to 48 books this year. Reading books is a great way to expand your mind and I want to step it up by reading across different genres and balancing out both fiction and non-fiction books. Basically, I want to be a sponge that absorbs information and knowledge!

🤝 Connect More With People

This goes for both online and offline. However, in this case, I mean the former. I am not good at social media and connecting with people virtually. And, I’d like to change that. I want to build a community, and be more active online. That means, chatting with you guys and also connecting with more people about their work. Blogging is a great way to find people with similar interests as well as expand into new territories. I want to be open-minded and make friends with people who would help me grow into a ‘better me,’ and I surely hope I can be the same for them!

🌐 Start Collaborating

This is one of my fear. I truly want to collaborate with people here, but I didn’t active reached out to someone. I always feel like I am not at that point yet where I’d be able to be a viable candidate for a collab. I want to explore guest posting and conduct interviews. I am way too critical of myself, which eggs that fear. However, this year, I want to move past that fear. This means that I need to be proactive and talk to people I’d like to collab with. If you are interested in collaborating with me, don’t forget to reach out! I am really excited about this! I have a number in mind (because, we gotta be specific) and let’s hope to get to that by the end of the year!

🍽️ Go Meatless Once a Week

I already go vegetarian twice a week. However, it was never set in stone. For instance, if I went out with friends on Saturday, I’d have eaten meat. But this year, I want to staunchly follow this rule. There are huge benefits to cutting down on meat — not only for the animals, but also for the environment. And, if each one of us cut down on meat at least once a week, the outcomes are staggering! So, this year, no matter what and/or where, I am not going to have meat on Saturdays, if not more! One day a week is a great place to start.

So, these are my 2022 S.M.A.R.T. goals! I wish you a prosperous year ahead! May all your dreams and wishes come true. 🍀

While at it, what are some of your S.M.A.R.T. goals for the year?

    1. Thanks, Juliette! I try to take new steps but let me tell you, it’s easier said than done! I hope I will be able to complete these by the end of 2022. For my sake, I did not go beyond 5!
Wish you a prosperous year ahead! 🙂
